Curators Choice – Harold Astwood’s Watercolours
The collections feature a group of 22 watercolours by a local artist called Harold Astwood. The watercolours show scenes from around North Lincolnshire, including landscapes, boats on the Humber, and Scunthorpe’s Central Library.
Harold Astwood was born in 1907. He was a member of Scunthorpe Art Group and his work was displayed in art exhibitions at the Museum. Unfortunately, we know little else about this talented local artist.
In this video, Collections Assistant Decorative Arts Madeleine Gray, takes a closer look at Harold Astwood’s watercolours.
