Curators Choice – Doiran Trench Map
As part of the Dynamic Collections: Documenting Northern Lincolnshire’s History project, a team of volunteers have been researching and cataloguing ephemera from the collection. Whilst documenting a box of First World War related material, a trench map caught the interest of Project Volunteer Dan Zetterstrom.
The map dates to 28 October 1918. It maps the trenches in the Doiran region of present-day North Macedonia. Notes on the map tell us who was using the map and their regiment.
In this video, Dynamic Collections Project Volunteer, Dan Zetterstrom, takes a closer look at the Doiran trench map and its links to the Third Battle of Doiran.
