Take Down Notice
North Lincolnshire Museums is committed to providing online access to the collection whenever possible. We take all reasonable precautions to ensure that nothing that we publish online will cause harm or concern to content creators, content owners, or persons otherwise associated with the material. We strive to act at all times in good faith and in accordance with legislation.
However, we recognise that material may be made available that is subsequently found to be objectionable or in breach of copyright laws. It is possible that material made available in good faith may later be shown to be infringing copyright, displaying sensitive personal data, or containing obscene or defamatory content. Where this may be the case, we operate a take down procedure.
If you believe that you have found material on our online platforms that breaches copyright laws by infringing yours or someone else’s intellectual property rights, or you have other concerns about the content made available, please contact us at museum@northlincs.gov.uk and provide the following information:
- Your name and contact details.
- The full details of the material.
- The link to where you found the material on our online platforms.
- The reason for requesting withdrawal of the material, including but not limited to copyright law, privacy laws, data protection, obscenity, defamation etc.
- If needed, proof that you are the copyright holder or an authorised representative.
When We Receive Your Notification
- We will acknowledge your communication by email or letter within 5 working days and make an initial assessment of your complaint.
- Temporarily withdraw or disable access to the material whilst we investigate the claim.
- If the request is considered legitimate, we will remove or disable access to the infringing material within 10 working days. The requester will receive an email giving details of the action taken.
- If the request is not considered legitimate, we will reinstate access to the material.
