Steel Town

Steel Town traces the history of Scunthorpe’s iron and steel industry from 1858 to the present day. Find out about the role of women in the industry and working conditions. Hear fascinating stories from steelworkers. Explore the impact the industry has had. Find out how it transformed Scunthorpe from a sleepy village into a large town.
