Lunchtime Lecture: Singing Folk: A History of Scunthorpe Folk Song Club from the Sixties to the Present Day

John Baker and Julia Pollock will present an illustrated account of the weekly gathering of singers and musicians that helped support the careers of professional performers including Martin Simpson, Barbara Dixon, Ewan MacColl, Stefan Grossman, Mike Harding, Ralph McTell, Christy Moore, The Strawbs and The Spinners.

They will touch on the some of the many other activities that have grown from the club, such as folk dances, dance display teams, pub singarounds and stage productions.
