Salim C. Wilson Changing Case
Our new changing case highlights Salim C. Wilson, also known as Hatashil Masha Kathish, who moved to Scunthorpe in 1911. Born in South Sudan, the son of a Dinka Chieftain, he was only a small child when the settlement he lived in was attacked and he was enslaved. After his emancipation, he built a life in England and became a well-known (and well loved) evangelist, author and grocer. In this display, discover his books, family photographs and ephemera relating to his life, many of which have not been displayed before.

The local history galleries are located on the ground floor of the Museum.
